What is instant live?

Instant Live is a music service that records and immediately sells live concert recordings directly to fans. It was started in 2002 by Clear Channel Entertainment (now Live Nation) and released its first recordings in early 2003. Instant Live uses multitrack recording equipment to capture the sound of a live performance with high fidelity. After the concert, the recordings are mixed, mastered, and burned to CD-Rs, which are then sold at the venue or online. Instant Live has recorded shows by a wide range of artists, including The Allman Brothers Band, Phish, The Black Crowes, and Pearl Jam. The service has been praised for providing fans with high-quality recordings of their favorite performers' concerts.
